Bystander Intervention Training: Antisemitism, Islamophobia, Xenophobia
Thursday, January 16th, 12:00 - 1:30 p.m.
This interactive training covers the 5Ds of bystander intervention as part of Right To Be's methodology. We will discuss the various forms of disrespect faced by Jewish and Muslim individuals in the U.S. and those perceived to belong to these groups, ranging from microaggressions in the workplace to harassment in public spaces and online. Facilitated by trainers from both faith communities, this session will provide practical insights. You will learn five intervention strategies: distract, delegate, document, delay, and direct, with a focus on prioritizing your safety. There will be time for practice so that you leave feeling more confident in addressing antisemitic or Islamophobic harassment. Participants who complete the training will receive a certificate of completion as well as the option to enroll in our Brave Conversations cohort, beginning in December 2024.
